He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

More movie news! He-Man to be a live action movie.

I’ve searched around and only got reports of “still in the talks” and no actual green lights yet. A review site, however, got hold of “the” draft by Justin Marks (Green Arrow) and gave it two thumbs up. Quoting from Latino Review:

What is GRAYSKULL about? We get both the origin of HE-MAN (or HE-MAN BEGINS), the origin of SKELETOR, and the origin of THE POWER SWORD. If Warners even remotely executes this script like they did 300 they will have a monster hit on their hands because this script leaves it open for a trilogy.

This has gotten me curious though and I am interested on how this will fare as a live action movie. Being a child of the 80’s, I grew up watching the He-Man and She-ra cartoons on Saturday mornings, and even watched the TV specials. If the review site is to be believed and execution will indeed follow through, then I’ll be one of the people who will be lining up on the first day of release.

The working title is “Grayskull: Masters of the Universe” and is supposedly set for release on 2009.
