Ozaki iPill microphone

Ozaki iPill

No pill is probably better than Viagra. But this here’s a different kind of pill – the iPill. No, it’s not one of those pill cameras that you swallow for doctors to check your colon. iPod accessory and speaker maker Ozaki introduces a microphone for your iPod in “pill” form. The cover seems like a nice touch but given the size of this thing, it’s just bound to be misplaced. Interesting concept though.

World-famous maker of iPod accessories, Ozaki, reinvents the microphone. In the most innovative fashion yet, the Ozaki microphone comes in a “pill” form. Aptly dubbed the iPill, it has a capsule-like shape, consisting of two halves–one half is the protective cover, and the better half is the iPill’s 3.5mm connector.

Ozaki iPill is the newest on-the-go mic for iPod, especially made and designed for iPod nano and touch. It has an outstanding sound quality, and works with third party applications so you can do more with your iPod.

Ozaki is exclusively distributed in the country by MSI-ECS Phils., Inc. For more product information and other inquiries, email marketing@msi-ecs.com.ph, call 688-3180 / 688-3181, or visit www.msi-ecs.com.ph.

Castlevania Movie

Castlevania has been a part of several generation’s consciousness. From the good old days of the 8-bit Castlevania to its latest 3D incarnations, the battle between Dracula and the Belmont clan rages on.

Konami wants to have a film for its Castlevania franchise and is apparently in the final stages of forging a deal with Saw director James Wan.

The project has been part of film and gaming scuttlebutt for quite a while now. The story (obviously) features Dracula versus the Belmont clan. The story for the film has been passed on from one writer to another leading many to doubt the quality of the final output.

Despite getting a lot of dough from his first Saw film, critics have quite the harsh words for Wan’s artistic vision. Whether the Castlevania flick would just be a gore film, one for Dragonball Evolution and Legend of Chun-Li category, or a possible classic, will remain to be seen.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2

Owners of current-gen gaming consoles should start saving up for this one. Even if Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 is just as good as the first one, it still guarantees to be a treat. Even more so if you’re a certified comic book junkie.

The gameplay follows its predecessor where players can choose four characters to use throughout the game. Being an action RPG, the characters level up as the player progresses through the game.

As for the story, the plot is lifted from Marvel’s Civil War story arc. A fight between heroes and villains causes the tragic death of hundreds of civilians prompting the government to pass a Superhuman Registration Act. All superhumans are forced to choose to be for or against the law. Players can choose between a pro or anti stand and the game packs multiple endings for replayability.

Anyway, here are some of the trailers made available by Marvel.

Why people go to Comic-Con

By Alex on July 26, 2009

Most people don’t get it why some would fuss about the Comic-Con. A packed place crawling with nerds and geeks? Who would want to go in there? Uhm, Megan Fox is a pretty damn good reason to go, right?

That aside, the Comic-Con isn’t only flocked by nerds. Aspiring artists, independent film makers, and budding entrepreneurs also go to such gatherings. The geek audience is a solid market segment, if not a niche.

Here’s a video clip showing interviews with random people and their reasons for going.

Alice in Wonderland

If there’s any director who I think will pull off an Alice in Wonderland, it’d be Tim Burton.

There might not be a more surreal and more playful director today than Burton and he’s just the kind of creative mind that a demented story such as Alice in Wonderland needs. Just think of Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Sweeney Todd. Thank goodness, they’ve tapped him to do the job.

Just to show you what kind of visualization Burton still packs, here’s the trailer Disney showcased at the San Diego Comic-Con.

And Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter? Holy cow!

The disturbance in the Force

By Alex on July 25, 2009

In totally un-Comic-Con related news… here’s some Star Wars bit. This is the disturbance in the force.

Do you remember that kid who played Anakin Skywalker in the air before that crud Hayden Christensen took over to mack Natalie Portman? Well we’re sure you won’t recognize him today. Here’s Jake Lloyd and he’s 20 now and boy, has he grown. The picture’s taken from last month’s Supanova Pop Culture Expo, Sydney, Australia.

Kinda looks like a young and pudgy Brock Lesnar.

Green Hornet Panel Comic-Con

So the Green Hornet movie finally sees daylight after more than a decade of talks, shelvings, and revivals.

So far, we know that Seth Rogen will play the title character. Joining Rogen on the script is Evan Goldberg and the film will be directed by Michael Gondry. They’re also appear to be talking to Nicholas Cage and Cameron Diaz for supporting roles. No word yet on who’s playing Kato.

If you’re thinking what the heck Seth is doing as title character, don’t you worry since he’ll be put into a strict regimen to make him fit for the role.

Anyway, since it’s Comic-Con, the Green Hornet panel brought something very nice to San DiegoThe Black Beauty car.

Here’s how you can try to win hearts and minds – use media that’s familiar to them.

In the case of the US, last year’s campaigns saw the importance of the Internet in pushing forward advocacies. Now, it seems like Japan’s politician are also making the Internet a potential political battleground.

This anime political ad is sponsored by Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). Ever since the LDP posted this video online on Friday, it has had well over 219,000 hits.

The ad features a man (who happen to look like Democratic Party of Japan‘s Yukio Hatoyama) proposing to girl in a restaurant. It is an attempt to question the DPJ’s proposals.

Japan’s Prime Minister Taro Aso of the LDP has been quite unpopular with the opposition and even with fellow party members and has called for parliamentary elections. The latest polls show that the DPJ is edging the LDP.

Here are (hastily-drafted :p ) transcript of the dialog:

Man: I am the one who will make you happy. Fill your life with roses. Ill take care of you, your maternity expenses, the expenses of your children, living expenses, and retirement expenses. We’ll speed into the highway of life as fast as you like.
Woman: But the money?
Man: We dont have to worry about anything once we get married.
Woman: What?

Groundless self-confidence or foundation?
