Good news: The first Filipino edition of Playboy will hit the stands on April 2.
Bad news: There will be no nudity. Well, that is, if you really consider it a bad news.
Veteran journalist Beting Laygo Dolor says that the Filipino Playboy will be launched as an “adult lifestyle magazine”, aimed at a more mature readership compared to FHM and Maxim, which they classified as “lad magazines”.

As far as couples and computer games go, there are only two options – either the couple share the same interest or the game starts to break their relationship to pieces. And yes, there’s such a thing as video game addiction where overindulgence in gaming can cause as much friction as other vices.
Take this case for example of a couple who divorced because of World of Warcraft (WoW). The California couple ended their marriage after six years of being together just because the husband has decided that he’d spend more time in the world of virtual humans and orcs. And the greater tragedy is that she was the one who bought the game for him.

Okay. I’ve seen FHM standees all around the metro. And I even remember a time when FHM raffled some of them off. Now what people do with them, I don’t want to know. But I’ve seen people kiss their crushes’ pictures in magazines and you can just hypothesize what perverted maniacs can do with life-size standees.
But how about these KimiKiss standees available at Akihabara in Japan? For those of you who haven’t encountered this yet, KimiKiss is that PS2 dating simulation game that has eventually evolved into a franchise with a manga, light novel, and anime to boot.

Hey, hey, hey! My good friend, Greenpinoy has sure come a long way!
Was it only a few years back when me and two other girls sneaked into his room in an all-male dorm in ICU to spend the night when we couldn’t make the last train home because we had a blast at a karaoke bar?
Oh well… as I was saying, I hope you’d all check him out as he does his wacky antics live tomorrow (February 16) , 8 P.M., at the Club Intramuros Roof Deck for Jokefest for the Dateless!

Break a leg, Greenpinoy, and bring the house down!

It’s quite interesting that more often than not geeks and Valentine’s usually just don’t mix. I just don’t know if we here over at Sugoi Stuff are just geeky enough since most of us aren’t single. Still, for those who had a chilly Valentine’s Day, at least some of us can relate to the plight of being geeky and lonely on Valentine’s. But do we really have to rub it in? Hehe.
Who’d want to date an otaku anyway? Let’s face it. Not all otakus can be as sweet and endearing as Densha Otoko. The otaku profile isn’t an interesting prospect for some hot Valentine’s Day/Night escapades, right? Who’d want to be seen a pimply-faced and obese/wafer-thin geek in a baduy get-up, right?
Okay, so enough otaku bashing for now and let’s try to look at some upsides to dating one.

Honestly, I was a bit shocked with what I read on the Sydney Morning Herald. Despite the fact that we know Japan to produce top-notch adult entertainment, it appears that the Japanese households in general are being less intimate over the years. Some Japanese mommas aren’t getting any love from the poppas. Like the article’s example with this one woman who has not had sex for 20 years. The last time she did it was when Hirohito was still alive.
Could you believe that? The nation that brought us classics like Urotsukidoji and La Blue Girl (with a live-action version nonetheless) and future classics like Maria Ozawa don’t give their moms the level of affection that they deserve.

Got you reading the post, didn’t I?
I know some people gleefully rubbing their hands right now. They bet that it wouldn’t take me long to post something so Flori-esque . I roll my eyes upwards at that. Seriously, folks. I am quite wholesome despite how other people seem to paint me otherwise.

I love reading sexy mom’s blog. The net is already too full of whiny blogs about “how the world is so unjust and unfair blah, blah, blah…” written by “emo” teenagers, that reading about the funny, sweet (and sometimes tart), and poignant stories from a mother’s point of view is definitely refreshing!
The same thing can be said about Japanese comics that are overrun by the usual shoujo/shounen stuff. Hey, I love getting lost in the fantasies created by talented manga-kas like any other fan. But like sexy mom’s blog in an emo-filled web, Reiko Saibara’s all-too-real comics on being a mother, wife, daughter, and a woman in Japanese society is as moving as any CLAMP manga out there.
