Three brave (to the point of loony?) Japanese women from Niigata prefecture have successfully crossed the 60 km width of Sado Straits from Sado to Honshu. So what’s sugoi about this? They did it by paddling in an old fashioned wooden tub each. Just to commemorate a local tale of a woman named Omitsu who paddled her way from Sado to Kashiwazaki to see her lover.
