Ohisashiburi!
That means, “It has been a long time!” And it really has been a long time since I posted anything under Kyou no Nihongo. Anyway, I just learned new Japanese catch phrases yesterday and I mean to share them to you:
Puri-tsu
created by JJ magazine
It’s a combination of the words, princess and tsukin (which means to commute). Puri-tsu refers to mean women who commute to work looking like royalty.
Motepuyo
from Story magazine
This word refers to middle-aged ladies who have started putting on weight but still try to stay in fashion. Although others say that this phrase refers to short and chubby girls who have cute faces.
Does this mean that
is motepuyo?
Burin-burin-kei
from Glitter magazine
Yep, this comes form the hip-hop term bling-bling. This particular phrase, however, pertains to high maintenance women. (a.k.a. bilmoko)

I guess it just isn’t my week. First it was Oguri Shun, and now Abe Hiroshi?
According to an article in Sanspo, is finally getting married (at 43) to his one-and-a-half-year long 28 year-old non-showbiz girlfriend (has anyone noticed how I am emphasizing the years and the hyphens here?
).
There goes another dream shattered. Let me go to one corner and sulk a bit.

Tsismax to the max this week!
From Japanese news source Sankei Sports:
Ikemen Oguri Shun and Meitantei Conan 2 co-star Kashii Yu are rumored to be you know like, together. They were reported to be seen out on a date in October. Kashii was also reported to have spent one night in Oguri’s apartment early this month.
As datenshi once said, “Huwaaahaaaat?!!!”

tetsu, bassist of J rock band L’arc~en~ciel is said to marry to actress Sakai Ayane, according to Japanese news source Sponichi Annex If my memory serves me right, Sakai played Ayano (hmm… Ayana as Ayano
) the first fiancee of Doumyouji in Hana Yori Dango 1. You know, the girl who won first place in the climactic Miss Teen of Japan pageant?
Anyway, the couple had been dating since last year and are expected to make a formal announcement this week.

Sanrio must really be rich by now with their expanded merchandise. Aside from licensing a special Hello Kitty rifle, they now have special message osenbei (Japanese rice crackers. There are some sold here of which the most common brand is called Wan Wan)! Look at the stuff I bought when my and my spiritual hubby, Nagase Tomoya’s phantom kid was born. The 5-piece pack costs 1,088 yen (tax included).
