Leah Dizon is not going to retire.
In fact, on Valentine’s Day, Leah will hold a special event at the Harajuku Ameba Studio as a thanks to her fans. Her debut single, “Softly” is apparently turning a year old already!
Not only that, she’ll also be performing at the HITEC in Hong Kong on the 26th of March. And on that same day, her 4th single “Love Paradox” and her new photo book will be released in Japan.

I will never ever forget this song. This was the opening theme for Kids’ War, the first Japanese daytime drama that I ever got addicted to. It also got me acquainted with Inoue Mao, who was one of the stars of the show. Anyway the song is by Zone. Too bad they’ve disbanded.

I don’t know what prompted my second fave agent (next to Johnny Kitagawa of Johnny and Associates fame), Tsunku, to come up with another “project.” I mean, Hello!Project was confusing enough with Morning Musumeplus all the sub groups and Hello! Project Eggs (ftw?).
Anyway, good ol’ Tsunku is collaborating with other agencies such as, Spacecraft, Tanabe Agency, TNX, and Up-Front Agency, to form NICE GIRL Project (a.k.a. NGP). Apparently with this new endeavour, Tsunku will be able to liven things up by creating rival units for those that belong to Hello! Project. Plus, he will also be able to create a Mini T (–> pun is mine!) or a Tsunku II to handle all NGP stuff.
My thoughts?
Well I think the title of the new project says it all. Maybe the Hello girls are turning out to be not nice after all. Ahem-Momusu-leader-scandals-ahem.
More in Oricon, if you can read Japanese

Maybe we should change the site to Sugoi Chika…
According to Sanspo.com, multi-awarded pop singer, Hamasaki Ayumi and her boyfriend of six years, Nagase Tomoya of the Johnny’s Junior boy band, TOKIO have finally split. Yep, that finally put an end to the rumors that they are getting married.
What is up with Morning Musume?
This time, former Morning Musume Iida Kaori‘s pregnancy and upcoming marriage to Kenji (who is apparently the former vocalist for the band 7HOUSE, which was also under Momusu’s producer Tsunku) hit the entertainment headlines. The two have been rumored to be dating several years ago but it was only September of last year that they’ve gotten together seriously. How serious? As serious as marriage, which seems to be where the relationship is heading anyway.
More of the news in Oricon. Er… unfortunately it’s in Japanese.

According to Oricon, former Morning Musume member, Tsuji Nozomi (better known for her crazy antics with partner-in-crime Kago Ai) and actor Sugiura Taiyo has officially registered their marriage yesterday. The actual wedding will be held mid-July sans reception.
Nono is 16 weeks pregnant. For more of this sugoi stuff:

I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that one of the performers at the J Crunch Ripiito last Saturday was in fact a solo J Pop act.
