Hare Hare Yukai

By Kyameel on August 24, 2007

You got that right, another version of the infamous Haruhi dance, from the anime Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. Only this time performed by our all-time favorite Cebu Prison inmates.

It’s a bit on the dark side as it is a night time performance (practice?) but you can still see the star formation and the moves of the inmates moving to the beat of the music. I seriously think that their choreographer is an otaku.

More than meets the eye

Bumblebee made out of recycled boxes

This is extremely sugoi! To everyone who loved the Transformers movie and thoroughly enjoyed it (including my self), this one’s for all of you. A fellow fan created a movie-verse Bumblebee figure out of recycled boxes. And get this, with articulation! The articulation is a bit limited and cannot transform into the Camaro, but still is sugoi in it’s own way. The details are completely amazing and just wowed me.

Go to the guy’s blog to read the details on creating this masterpiece. This guy totally wins the internet for me.

Thanks to Jill for this awesome link!

August-September 2008 will be a much awaited summer for Hana Yori Dango fans as Inoue Mao, Matsumoto Jun, Oguri Shun, Matsuda Shota, and Abe Tsuyoshi will be back to reprise their roles for “Hana Yori Dango Final,” the film that is said to be the last chapter of the live-action adaptation.

According to Sanspo.com, the film is set one year after Tsukushi Makino’s graduation. Ishi Yasuharui will direct the film and HYD mangaka Kamio Yoko and screenwriter Satake Mikio are developing the story.

Up next, a Voltron movie

By Alex on August 11, 2007

When I was still busy snacking on Chocolait and Chocolate Pretzels (and that was a long time ago), there was a legend – the legend of Voltron. Who’d forget them lion robots, right? Voltron: Defender of the Universe would definitely be a childhood influence that helped shaped my demented outlook in life. Nice.

Going by the same trend as Transformers, is a movie about five people piloting a quintent of lion shaped robots. IGN reports that if them cars and trucks were worth a movie, why not them space explorers and their huge lions?

Producer Mark Gordon will be bringing the project to life and chances are scriptwriter Justin Marks’ story will be used. But the premise sounds a bit blah. It’s “a post-apocalyptic tale set in New York City and Mexico. The film follows five survivors of an alien attack who must band together and end up piloting the five lion-shaped robots that combine and form the massive sword-wielding Voltron that helps battle Earth’s invaders. ”

New York and Mexico? What the? Whatever happened to space exploration and space witches? And would that mean no Princess losing her bikini top while swimming? What a travesty of geek justice if that would be the case! For hot-blooded male geeks, nothing beats big robots and nudity.

Oh man, I wanna be Jacky Chan

By Alex on August 9, 2007

Jacky Chan and Chris Tucker will be back for Rush Hour 3 and since I’m a fan of the series, I’m sure I will be watching. In any case, man, I want to be Jacky Chan. Just take a look at this clip from Conan where he shares a story about how he got to grab some model’s boobs.

No lawsuits. No nothing. Just some thank you for Jacky Chan kung fu. Asian dudes rock.
