Here it is, folks. Perhaps one of the greatest travesties of anime adaptations to live action film – Keanu Reeves will play Spike Spiegel for the live-action Cowboy Beebop. Tandandan…
Okay, granted that he was cool as Neo but come on! Spike’s one of the coolest guys in the anime universe. He’s funny and witty and he can’t be played by Ted Theodore Logan! I can’t imagine Keanu sporting that trademark shock of hair that is Spike’s either.
Hmm. But wait. Maybe everything will be forgiven if they pick a really good Faye Valentine. Oh please let it be someone who’s really hot with a touch of class.
For those of you who missed out on Cowboy Beebop, it’s a great noir tale about bounty hunters in space ca. 2071.
Well, this is just our take. How about yours? Vote in our poll after the cut!

Got 650,000 Yen? Then you can own a complete set of all 1,051 Nintendo Family Computer ROM cartridges that were ever released. If you’re a game history buff, then this should be a wet dream. Imagine having all the “bala” of Family Computer games. And forget those 1001-in-one crap that they used to sell as this is the real thing. The collection includes releases dating from 1983 to the last one released in 1994. 11 glorious years of 8-bit gaming up for grabs.
I wonder where my old collection of Family Computer games are. Boy, those were the days. Super Mario Bros. Rockman. Popeye. Double Dragon. Mmm… Too bad this whole collection is worth half a brand new car already. Besides, you can get ROMs and emulators online for free nowadays if it’s all for nostalgia. 650,000 Yen converts to around US$7,200 or Php350,000.

And on the trail-end of today’s trailer blitz posts is my pick for most anticipated movie of 2009 – X-Men Origins: Wolverine. I’m a huge fan of Wolverine as a character and the Origin graphic novel would come down as my all-time favorite to date.
I liked how they extended the story beyond Origin and went up to the Weapon X phase of Wolverine’s personal history. I think that would allow for much more character development since Origin requires just so much background knowledge for better appreciation.
Nevermind if they got six-footer Hugh Jackman to play a supposedly vertically-challenged character (He’s 5′3!!!). I think Jackman’s one of the best casting decisions in the history of comic-based movies ever. Feast your eyes, bub!

Oh and here’s another one to open the year for all of us.
I’ve been a Street Fighter fans since and Chun-Li has got to go down as one of the best fighting game babes of all time. When we all thought the Street Fighter movie with Jean-Claude Van Dam was atrocious (I liked Kylie as Cammy, though), they decided to muck up the nasty SF movie history with this steaming pile of crap.
I never liked Kristin Kreuk even in Smallville and I sure as hell don’t like her playing an obviously Chinese gal. Oh well. I just hope these get overshadowed by all the graphic novel-based movies this year.
Here’s the Japanese trailer.

For some reason, the old post was lost and after being out of commission for the past months, we’re resurrecting Sugoi Stuff.
Anyway,? we had been ranting about this travesty of anime justice known as the Dragon Ball live action movie dubbed Dragon Ball Evolution. It’s never really cool for some white boy to play a classic anime character such as Son Goku.
Without further ado, check the trailer.
