Games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band have definitely given new life to the classics and special editions of the games are a stroke of product development genius. There really is an immediate market from the artist/group’s fan base who now get a chance to “be” their rock stars.
The next big thing with these musical simulators – The Beatles: Rock Band. It’s arriving in August (09/09/09) and current compilation of tidbits has pegged the number of songs to 25. The 25 songs out of 45
- Back in the U.S.S.R.
- Can’t Buy Me Love
- Day Tripper
- Eight Days a Week
- Get Back
- Here Comes the Sun
- I Am the Walrus
- I Feel Fine
- I Saw Her Standing There
- I Want to Hold Your Hand
- Octopus’s Garden
- Paperback Writer
- Revolution
- Sgt. Pepper’s Lnely Hearts Club Band
- Taxman
- Twist and Shout
- Within You Without You
- Yellow Submarine
- With A Little Help From My Friends
- Birthday
- I Got a Feeling
- Dig a Pony
- Do You Want To Know A Secret
- I Wanna Be Your Man
- And Your Bird Can Sing
The tricky thing about these special editions is the song selection. Guitar Hero: Metallica had a great song lineup while Guitar Hero: Aerosmith was a bit of a letdown since it didn’t contain any of their big hits in the 90s. Many fans are currently not content with the song list.

You don’t have to be a full J-culture enthusiast to know X Japan since their music has been featured in countless anime titles. Well, you can also regard them as one of the long-enduring J-rock groups having been around since 1982. (Sure, they took a 10-year hiatus but they’re back.)
Rumors were abound that their bassist, Heath, has left the band but the band’s management claims that these rumors were unfounded. It is true, however, that Heath has proposed his departure but nothing has been approved.
The band’s Tokyo Dome concerts on May 2 and 3 next month will push through.

Holy crap. Imagine watching porno with the Super Mario theme as background music. I’m pretty sure your boner would disappear in an instant. Unless, of course, you had a thing for Princess Peach. Still, that would be quite sick in my book. SMB’s underwater theme would crack me up though.
The Minus World made a list of the top 5 songs that can be used as porno music. In the list are – 5) Killer 7 – White Sugar, 4) Mega Man 2 – Wood Man Theme, 3) Sonic The Hedgehog 2 – Casino Night Zone, 2) Disgaea: HOD – You Go Girl and 1) Marvel VS. Capcom 2 – Player Select Theme.
Out of the 5, I’d only pick White Sugar myself. Anything with sax is good. The rest only work if you really have a geeky fetish.
2008 Britney Spears? Definitely not Sugoi. Animated version of Toxic? I guess anything other than the crazy Britney Spears would be sugoi in my book. SunUK has some pics of her upcoming video Break The Ice.
The audacious promo to forthcoming single Break The Ice is set in a futuristic world, and sees Brit depicted as a pretty, slim line superhero.
Hmm… I don’t recall the Toxic video having those scenes. Let’s just wait and see how this video turns out.

Yeah, yeah sure… I’m recently feeling a little vulnerable so I’ve been listening to “oldies” songs. I stumbled upon this particular 80’s classic by Phil Collins.
I remember once when I was in second grade and I was left alone one afternoon since my Mom went to the grocery for food. I had just finished my homework so I had about an hour of TV time. No cable yet at that time and it was a little too early in the afternoon for cartoons so I was left to amuse myself with music videos.
I came upon this one, and though I understood the lyrics superficially, I remember that I felt so sad while watching the vid and listening to the song that I actually cried! My Mom was perplexed when she came back seeing me sniffling like an old grandma over Gone with the Wind.

Former Morning Musume member Goto Maki revealed that she is finally graduating from Hello!Project during her tour at Saitama’s Sonic City last October 28. Her decision to leave was propelled by the theft scandal that involved her brother, Yuki earlier this month. Another reason is that she wants to be considered as a serious music artist and no longer as an idol.
