Oh what a way to start my Sugoi Stuff posting routine. Sad, sad, and un-sugoi news indeed. Being movie (and trailer) fans, we’d like to say farewell to a man who has undoubtedly affected our lives on way or another – Don LaFontaine. For those unfamiliar with the name, he’s the man behind the voice of many of the movie trailers and commercials we’ve seen in our time.
Irony of all ironies, the guy died from complications from a collapsed lung. He was 68. But in his lifetime, LaFontaine voiced more than 5,000 trailers and 350,000 commercials. Among the familiar ones include voice-over work for the Terminator 2 and The Simpsons movie trailers.
I couldn’t imagine watching another chunk of trailers in the movies without hearing this guy’s voice. His voice really cuts through everything. The sound effects. The music. The crunch of the popcorn. He really is The Voice.
Don LaFontaine. August 26, 1940 – September 1, 2008.

We’ve mentioned before that there will be the Hana Yori Dango live action movie. Apparently we have been so busy, we missed the announcement of the release date: June 28, 2008. Yes people, just a few days away!
And if you still can’t wait for it to come out, here’s a fan-subbed trailer for you to cuddle up with for a few more days.

Remember that LEGO Star Wars? Quite interesting wasn’t it? Especially if you’re a fan of both LEGO and Star Wars. Then how about this? LEGO Batman. Yahoo! For a guy who asked for nothing else but LEGO sets for Christmas (yes, I am a retard), and a Batman fan at that, this is just a treat.
And while it coincides with the year the new Batman movie will be coming out, this doesn’t really relate to the movie’s storyline at all. You’d have Batman and Robin fighting crime in Gotham City in pretty much the LEGO Star Wars fashion and in their TV glory. Yup, we Batman will be in gray and black and Robin will be wearing green toits (at least, it’s not those flesh-colored stocking and elf shoes).

It’s neither Jap nor Pinoy, but still sugoi.
Here’s the official trailer of The Golden Compass slated for December 2007 screening (which means it’ll be showed here in RP by January next year). I do hope it’s worth the wait, as I loved the His Dark Materials Books the movie is based on.
And dabnabbit, the trailer gave me goosebumps. But then again, that’s just me. XD
Enjoy!
