Would you believe it if somebody tells you that Kobe Bryant had just pulled off a major stunt, that is to jump over a speeding Aston Martin? I know you wouldn’t, though it is possible.
Just look at this video from Kobe’s official website to see for yourself.

It is known to the world that Masaki Sumitani, the man behind the phenomenon Hard Gay (HG), had already “retired” two years ago. While some thought they would never hear from him again except from the videos people uploaded on YouTube, one man took a stand.
With the original HG “out of the scene”, one Filipino citizen who chose to be concerned took his place for him. Patrick, dubbing himself as Hard Gay Philippines (HGP), debuted at Hataw Hanep Hero 2007 and had since taken the cosplay community by storm.

It’s been a week since the storm called Ozine Fest 2008 had calmed down. It was held last April 5 and 6 at Megatrade Hall 2, SM Megamall, presented by Otakuzine Anime Magazine and Lineage II.
Just like any other conventions, you would expect a lot, and I do mean a lot of cosplayers roaming around and outside the venue. I went on both days to document the sights and sounds (not to mention the scents) inside the hall.
WARNING: I will not only be describing the event; I will also share some critiques regarding it.

Now if you happen to have $395 lying around (and a few more for shipping…) and have fantasized about Batman coming to your rescue, then this item might be a must have for you. You might not live in Gotham City but you can always light up the sky with your very own Bat Signal.
Don’t be fooled by the relatively small dimensions on this thing (12? x 2.25? x 9?) but this gizmo can project Batman’s insignia up to 16 feet away. Hey, it’s a great way to say that “Batman’s on my side so bugger off” or “Hey, I’m a forty-year old weaboo who trips balls for Batman.” View the bigger picture after the cut.

For movie buffs, you might know Jason Reitman as that Canadian writer/director/actor/producer who directed films such as Thank You for Not Smoking and Juno. In his appearance in the Howard Stern show (and thank goodness not to ride the sybian), he mentioned that he declined handling the Justice League movie.
“What am I going to do with Justice League of America? So Basically I’ll make a movie that is not as good as X-Men, then I’ll be the guy who made a movie not as good as X-Men. Where just like you talking about, going to smaller stations, if I make another small movie, and it’s really good, it performs well…” “Right now I’m thought of as a particular type of director. I’ve got an oscar nomination. I’ve made two indie films that play film festivals that are considered thoughtful. I want to stay in that world, I like making those type of films.”
I might have to say that it’s a good call. When you’ve got a rep, you need to be a bit choosy with what projects you associate your name with. And let’s face it, this Justice League movie isn’t shaping up to be a slobberknocker. Getting Reitman to do the movie is pretty much like getting some PhD professor to get to tutor some Korean English for Php50 an hour.
