EA Sports has hit some pretty awful ruts in their games (probably with the exception of NHL and FIFA titles). Any decent gamer would go for the 2K titles. The level of realism and fluidity and accuracy of the animation in the 2K titles are just awesome.
Now with the new sports season coming in a few months, you might be asking what improvements can these sports games will offer. Take hockey for example. Will the game eventually feature some of those amazing stuff that players are doing in real life. Stuff like Alex Ovechkin’s goal scoring while flat on his back. Well, NHL 2K10 is teasing that feature in this game teaser trailer.
It would be interesting to see this actually found in the game play.
Castlevania has been a part of several generation’s consciousness. From the good old days of the 8-bit Castlevania to its latest 3D incarnations, the battle between Dracula and the Belmont clan rages on.
Konami wants to have a film for its Castlevania franchise and is apparently in the final stages of forging a deal with Saw director James Wan.
The project has been part of film and gaming scuttlebutt for quite a while now. The story (obviously) features Dracula versus the Belmont clan. The story for the film has been passed on from one writer to another leading many to doubt the quality of the final output.
Despite getting a lot of dough from his first Saw film, critics have quite the harsh words for Wan’s artistic vision. Whether the Castlevania flick would just be a gore film, one for Dragonball Evolution and Legend of Chun-Li category, or a possible classic, will remain to be seen.
Owners of current-gen gaming consoles should start saving up for this one. Even if Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 is just as good as the first one, it still guarantees to be a treat. Even more so if you’re a certified comic book junkie.
The gameplay follows its predecessor where players can choose four characters to use throughout the game. Being an action RPG, the characters level up as the player progresses through the game.
As for the story, the plot is lifted from Marvel’s Civil War story arc. A fight between heroes and villains causes the tragic death of hundreds of civilians prompting the government to pass a Superhuman Registration Act. All superhumans are forced to choose to be for or against the law. Players can choose between a pro or anti stand and the game packs multiple endings for replayability.

For PC gamers from years ago, Price of Persia undoubtedly brings back memories. Too bad the franchise never got back the same X-factor that old game had. Still, that doesn’t stop Disney from doing something about the franchise. Coming next year is Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (Yes, it shares the same title as the 2003 game.)
And these here are the two newly-released movie posters featuring the stars Jake Gyllenhaal as the Prince (who has noticeably hulked up for this role) and Bond girl Gemma Arterton as the Princess. The plot still echoes the same elements of the game franchise – evil wizard, beautiful princess, brave prince and some magical artifact. Ben Kingsley is reported to play the role of the bad guy so that should make this more interesting.
Well, all I can say for now is that Gemma’s got that sexy fierce look working just right.
Lookie here. Trekies are undoubtedly clenching their bumholes for the much anticipated J.J. Abrams Star Trek reboot. Whether it will be a travesty or not, we’ll only know once it hits the theaters later this week. But let’s have something to whet our Star Trek dose for the day. Here’s one for Trekie gamers.
Coming to the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network is Star Trek D-A-C. Don’t bother if you’re looking for ways to control Spock and finally relive your sick fantasies of contorting his CG player character against Kirk, D-A-C’s straight up spaceship shooter. Here’s the first trailer from GameTrailers.
Deebeedee pushers are having quite the heyday with the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie leaked through the Interwebs. That surely strikes a dent towards the build-up leaving people wondering if that would also affect box office returns once it officially hits the theaters.
Activision, the publisher of the accompanying game, isn’t too troubled though. They’ve just released this game trailer featuring cameo-appearances of several Marvel characters including a Sentinel, Gambit, and Blob.
The game will come to PC, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS and PSP come on May 1.
Cupcakes are always nice. But give it a bit of geek/gamer twist and they become much nicer. Too nice, in fact, that I’d probably have second thoughts about eating these babies. If you’re into the first-person shooter/RPG genre involving droids and evolutionary dregs (or just a fan of the first BioShock), then you might be interested in BioShock 2. The game’s set to be released this year and what we have here is one of the first looks at the game’s gameplay.
By the looks of it, the game does take advantage of the current gen gaming rigs’ graphics capabilities. The lighting, sparks, and shadows are definitely bound to give any person liable to motion sickness (or epilepsy) a hard time but at least it shows that it utilizes rendering and shaders pretty well. The water effect does look a bit shabby though.
The game will arrive for the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360 by the end of the year.
